Minesweeper: Treasure Hunt
Sweep mines, gather clues, deduce the hiding spot — then dig up the treasure.
🎯 Dig up the treasure to win
Use the shovel to dig up every invisible treasure on the map (on Hard, you also crack the vault). Revealing all the safe tiles doesn't win the game — sweeping is just the means to an end.
Two ways to lose: step on a mine, or run out of shovels.
🔢 A number = mines in the 8 touching tiles
Reveal a tile and see a number? That's exactly how many mines hide in the 8 tiles touching it.
Teaching x-ray view — in the real game, mines stay hidden.
Cross-check nearby numbers against each other to pin the mines (flag them 🚩) and reveal the safe tiles with confidence; revealing a blank tile auto-opens a whole patch.
🚩 Flags & safety
Flag the tiles you judge to be mines (switch to "Flag", or right-click with a mouse). Your first reveal is always safe.
📍 Reading coordinates
Every tile has a two-part, Battleship-style name: a letter (A, B, C… continuing spreadsheet-style past Z: AA, AB…) and a number (1, 2, 3…). (E, 5) means letter E, number 5, and all the tiles sharing a letter form that letter's line. On phones the biggest map is drawn rotated to fit your screen — the labels travel with their tiles, so (E, 5) is still (E, 5) and every clue reads exactly the same.
📜 Clues pin the treasure's hiding spot
Clue notes hide inside some of the safe tiles — reveal one and you pick it up automatically. Each note describes one trait of the treasure; stack them together and the search shrinks to a single tile. Not sure what a clue means? Tap it in the Clue log for an explanation.
Stack the three clues and the only revealed match is (D, 4) — the gold-framed tile → dig it . Blue tiles are still unrevealed.
Probe — use it on an unrevealed tile and it tells you outright whether it's a mine: a mine gets auto-flagged and locked in, no explosion; a safe tile simply gets revealed. Made for breaking those "it's a pure guess" standoffs.
Dig — switch to dig mode and put a shovel to work. A dig reveals the tile first, then judges the result — hit a mine and it still blows up! Every dig costs 1 shovel — striking treasure included.
⛵ Difficulty follows the voyage
Treasure ×1
Treasure ×3
Treasure ×3 + vault
Isles 1–5 are fixed (Easy · Easy · Medium · Medium · Hard); from Isle 6 the difficulty is drawn at random, and the farther you sail, the more often Hard turns up. Win a game to advance one isle — there is no finish line.
🏆 Points come from treasure alone
What a full clear is worth per game:
Your total carries over from game to game — it never resets.
🔐 The vault: work out the 3-digit code yourself
On top of its 3 treasures, every Hard map hides a locked vault. Dig it up and the brass dials appear. The code comes from 3 clues, and you do the math from the board:
You can only submit once all 3 treasures are collected and the vault is dug up — 3 attempts. Crack it for a perfect clear; use them all up and you still pass the isle, just with a smaller haul.
🧑✈️ A crew of three
Setting sail takes a sailor (3 max, shared by both modes). A failed game costs 1; one returns on their own every 60 minutes, and you can also watch an ad 📺 to recruit. At zero, you'll have to wait or recruit before sailing again.
The moment you step on a mine, you get one chance at a rescue: watch an ad to defuse it on the spot and keep digging. Once per game — a second blast really does sink you.
